Born in 1989: the Earth Snake (己巳) in Korean Saju
1989 is a Earth Snake year — 己巳 in the 60-year cycle.
Snakes are wise, calm and intuitive. They think before they speak and see through people quickly.
Earth years shape people who hold things together — stable, practical and loyal.
In Korean Saju the year starts at Ipchun (입춘), not on January 1. In 1989 Ipchun fell on February 4, 1989, 05:24 (Korea time, 20:24 UTC). Born before that? Your animal is the the Dragon.
- Sound element (納音)
- Wood of the Great Forest — big, generous and made to shelter others
In 2026 people born in 1989 turn 37.
